Agung volcano on the island of Bali.
Last erupted in 1963 resulting in a few deaths.
The eruption has believed to have caused significant climatic
effects,
causing a considerable decrease in temperatures around the
world.
The volcano is monitored continuously from three observatory
buildings located on its slopes,
i.e. Rendang Volcano Observatory on the southern slope,
Budakeling Volcano Observatory on the southeast slope
and Batulompeh Volcano Observatory on the northern slope.
The stamps shown below were issued on June 29th, 1963,
and were intended to provide relief for the victims of the
1963 eruption.
