The Giants Causeway, Northern Ireland.
Not really a volcano.
But the product of Tertiary volcanism.
The Giants Causeway played a large role in the argument between
Plutonism verses Neptunism.
The site is very close to the Bushmills Distillery.
Desmarest was amongst the first to attribute the Causeway
to a volcanic lava flow.
The cover immediately below illustrates stamp issued in 1981
for the 50th Anniversary of the National trust.

The next stamp, a close-up of the hexagonal pillars, was issued
in 2001.
The next (courtesy of Phil Quirk) is a cancel containing both
the Causeway and the distillery names.
The next postcard (courtesy of Prometheus) is a real photograph
postcard of the same location as the
home page of my web site back-drop. It was mailed in 1923
but is not dated.
The next stamp was issued on 16th of March 2004
