The Comores Archipelego sits off the eastern coast of Africa.
The volcanism is believed to be the result of a hot spot which
gets progressively younger to the NW.
Currently only Karthala on Grande Comore is active.
The politics of the region are somewhat complicated.
Grande Comore = Ngazidja
Mwali = Moheli
Ndzouoini = Anjouan
Maore = Mayotte
