The volcano Demavend (or Demavand, etc) is located in Iran,

approximately 45 miles northeast of Teheran,

near the southern coast of the Caspian Sea.

The mountain rises 18,602 feet above sea-level.

The stamps below show the isolated peak behind the tail of the bird.

There are no recorded historic eruptions.

The following stamps were issued in 1930

The previous were overprinted in 1935

The following stamp was issued in 1953

The next image was to issued to celebrate the Boy Scouts in 1969

Inset at top right appears to be of tents at base of a volcano(?)

One can only assume, if such is the case, that it is Demavend.

The next is a joint issue between Iran and Portugal in 2009
