The Galapagos Islands, like the Hawaiian Islands are all volcanic.

They are shield volcanoes, composed mainly of lava.

They are somehat steeper than the Hawaiian Islands on their lower slopes,

giving them more of an upside-down breakfast cereal bowl shape in cross-section.

Individual volcanoes illustrated on the map below include:

On Isabela island - Volcan Ecuador, Volcan Darwin, Volcan Wolfe, Volcan Alcedo, Sierra Negra and Cerro Azul.

The next souvenir sheet was issued by Ecuador in 1986 and commemorates the 450th Anniversary of the discovery of the islands.

The next was issued by the UK in 2009 and celebrates Darwin's 200th Anniversary.

The map employs the names the British gave to them.
