Ijen (Gunung Meletus) is located in eastern Java.
The last eruption prior to the issueing of the stamps shown
below was in 1952.
Most of the historic recorded eruptions have been of VEI 2
or less.
The stamps issued in December of 1967 show a burning village
on the left and the volcano in eruption on the right.
They each have a surcharge that went to the National Disaster
Fund (Bencana Alam)
