Karisimbi Volcano, Rwanda

The highest of the Virunga volcanoes at 14,787 feet a.s.l.

Has not erupted historically but has a potassium-argon age of ca. 8050 BC.

The youngest activity was viscous lava flows which travelled 12 km from the volcano.

The stamp below was issued by the Belgian Congo in 1937
