Manam is located 12 km northeast of Papua New Guinea.

The first historically recorded eruption was in 1616.

Most of the eruptions are strombolian though occasionally it can get more violent.

The first day cover below was issued on July 8th, 1970.

Manam is the volcano shown on the 5¢ with the Fokker Friendship F27 with the red tail (top right).

The next stamp was issued in 2009, depicting an eruption of that year.
