Matupi is one of the vents of Rabaul.
Otherwise known as Tavurvur.
The volcano was very active in the 20th century.
A cave in the summit crater is lined with beautiful sulphate
crystals.
The volcano is shown on the 25¢ stamp on the first day
cover, issued July 8th, 1970, below.
