Right in the middle of the Island
The entirety of Mauritius is volcanic, dating back 8 million
years.
Consequently there has been much erosion in its tropical climate.
Therefore the mountains on the island, though volcanic, represent
the remnants of the original volcano.
Rock of 589 metres located about seven kilometers east of
Curepipe.
