Ngauruhoe Volcano, Tongariro, North Island, New Zealand.
Unlike Egmont, Ngauruhoe is frequently active.
Fortunately, most eruptions have a VEI magnitude of 3 or less.
A radiocarbon age of 7750 BC has been obtained for Tongariro.
The volcano may be erupting as I type this.
The stamp on the left below was issued in 1960
It was issued again in 1964 in multicolored format (center)
A change to decimal currency led to a second reissue in 1967,
followed by a fourth (unwatermarked) issue in 1970.
Changes include, disappearance of tree, smoke in chimney and
sharpness of vegetation in foreground

The next stamp (courtesy of Ed Benson) was issued in 1973
The next stamp is a more recent view.
