Tinakula Volcano.

Located on what were formerly the British Solomon Islands which changed their name to the Solomon Islands in 1975 and achieved independence in 1978.

Located in the west Pacific, east of Papua.

The stamp on the right was issued in 1939 during the reign of George VI.

The same image but with the profile of Elizabeth II, issued March 1st 1956, is shown on left.

The image is probably of the 1909 eruption though maybe just fumarolic activity.

The next stamp was issued on October 24th, 1994 and shows a quiescent volcano
