Sovi Bay, Viti Levu, Fiji Islands.
Late Eocene to Oligocene volcanic rocks occur only on Viti
Levu.
They comprise a succession of volcanic rocks and their sedimentary
derivatives with minor carbonate intercalations.
Tholeiitic to calc-alkaline rocks occur over areas of southeastern
Viti Levu.
Later activity on northern Viti Levu consisted of shoshonitic
volcanics.
Volcanism continued into the early Pleistocene.
